Small violet glass vase 'Pala', by Helena Tynell for Riihimäen Lasi, Finland

CHF 35.00

A petite vase in violet-hued glass from the 'Pala' series, designed by Helena Tynell (1918-2016) for Riihimäen Lasi, Finland.

This series dates to 1964, and was one of Tynell's most popular designs, produced in a range of sizes and colours. 'Pala' means 'block' in Finnish, and it is easy to see why this series with its segmented shape and modernistic expression acquired this name. It was produced until 1976.

This vase is in excellent vintage condition, with some tiny fleabites on the inner rim, and measures 5 cm in diameter and 6 cm tall.
