Digsmed Denmark teak rotating tray with nine small smoked glass dishes
This beautiful and functional piece is a must-have for dinner party hosts - a 1960s teak rotating tray with nine small smoked glass dishes by the now defunct Danish tableware company Digsmed.
This piece is perfect for apéro, I can imagine all the little dishes filled with olives, antipasti, dips, cut vegetables, and the top level heaving with an array of cheeses. It would also work well at a winter dinner party for serving condiments and additions to raclette or fondue, with a bowl of potatoes or bread on the top level.
This timeless piece is a true example of Danish modern design. The wooden element is in excellent vintage condition, and has a high quality, smooth mechanism for rotating the tray.
The smoked glass dishes, which were manufactured by Danish glassworks Holmegaard, have numerous minor damages consistent with their age and use, specifically small chips and 'flea bites', which are superficial and not immediately apparent without closer inspection.
The wooden tray measures 43 cm wide and 6.5 cm tall, and the dishes measure 3 cm tall, 9.5 cm long, and 8 cm wide (to the end of their handle). The tray base is stamped 'Digsmed Denmark 304'.
