A cobalt blue glass 'Spindle' vase by Tamara Aladin (1932-2019) for Riihimäen Lasi Oy Finland.
This beautiful, hand blown piece is classic Finnish glass design at its finest. The base is formed of heavy clear glass and the rest of the vase is cobalt blue glass. Aladin conceived the 'Spindle' design in the 1960s, and worked at Riihimäen Lasi between 1959 and 1976, where she produced many notable and popular designs.
The underside of the base is engraved with 'Riihimäen Lasi Oy Finland' and the design number '1360'.
This piece is in excellent vintage condition, with some fine scratches only noticeable upon close inspection. The vase stands 16 cm tall and the base is 7 cm in diameter.
